Owls outshine Eagles in rivalry game

Jacksboro and LaFollette basketball games are always a passionate affair. Names like Matt Henegar, Trent Shown, Jack Faulkner and Bo Vinsant have all shined in such games. This year the name to remember is Lucas Nelson. The Owl’s point guard turned in a performance that places his name in the same light as the above mentioned former stars. Nelson had over 20 of the Owls 44 points in their 44-26 win over their rival.
The game started out with Nelson and Big Luke Farnum each putting six on the board for the boys in orange. Donnie Huddleston led Jacksboro with four points. The Owls led 14-8 after a quarter. The second quarter saw Nelson add four to his total. Taylor Chadwell and Chase Lindsay both scored to keep the Eagles in the running. The Owls led 21-13 at the half.
The Eagles were able to close the gap some in the second half. Lance Webber had three for the Eagles in the quarter. Nelson had five to lead the Owls. The final quarter saw the Owls pull away despite the effort put forth by the Eagles. Tanner Torres, Webber and Huddleston each had a basket for the Eagles. Nelson added six points to his total finished the game with 21 points.

LaFollette's Keenan Evans matches up with Jacksboro's Chase Lindsay in Thursday night's bug rivalry game.
