Lady Owls edge Lady Eagles

It is always a fierce battle when the Lady Eagles and Lady Owls step onto the hardwood. Thursday night at the Jim and Linda Agee Gymnasium on the campus of Jacksboro Middle School was no exception. The Lady Owls won a neck in neck battle by the score of 22-20.
The first quarter was all Lady Owls as Kristen Chapman and Taylor Bailey each had four points. Kersten Allen scored the only two points for the Lady Eagles in the first quarter. The Lady Owls held a comfortable 11-2 lead going into the second quarter. The Lady Eagles reversed this on their cross county rivals in the second quarter as Kelsey Allen and Maria Foust led the team effort with three points each. Courtney Miller was the only Lady Owl to score in the second with two points. The Lady Owls went into halftime clinging to a 13-12 lead.
The second half was just as fiercely contested as the first. Foust and Courtney Morris each had two points to lead the Lady Eagles in the third quarter. Lafollette’s Chapman matched them with four points. The final quarter began with the Lady Owl’s leading 19-17. The final quarter was a low scoring affair for both teams. Emily Griffith had two points to lead the Lady Eagles and Shayla Goins did the same for the Lady Owls. At the final buzzer the Lady Owls had pulled out a 22-20 victory.
